Central Michigan vegetable update For pickles, I do not have any confirmed reports of downy mildew in this part of Michigan yet, however, growers are advised to continue downy mildew fungicide spray programs. The disease has been confirmed in Michigan. We are just now finding powdery mildew on squash and pumpkins, several weeks later in the season than we have seen it during the past few years.
