Cucurbit Downy Mildew Found in Ashe and Haywood Counties | North Carolina Cooperative Extension

Cucurbit downy mildew has been reported on pumpkin and cucumber in Ashe and Haywood Counties, respectively. Downy mildew, caused by the oomycete Pseudoperonospora cubensis, infects leaves and can result in significant yield loss.  It was reported through the CDM IPMPipe on pumpkin in Ashe County on August 10, 2016 and by an NCDA Agronomist in Haywood County on August 12, 2016.

Cucumber downy mildew reported in North Carolina | North Carolina Cooperative Extension

Downy mildew, a devastating disease on cucumbers caused by the oomycete Pseudoperonospora cubensis, has been reported in North Carolina. It was observed on cucumber in Duplin (June 1, 2016) and Sampson (June 27, 2016) counties. The field had 1-5% disease incidence, with the infected plant/leaf having 35-40% disease severity.
