Cucumber downy mildew detected in NC | NC State

Characteristic symptoms include angular, chlorotic lesions on the upper surface of cucurbit leaves and gray sporulation on the underside of the leaves. Sporangiophore structures typical of Pseudoperonospora cubensis, causal agent of CDM, can be observed using a hand lens or under a dissecting microscope.

Cucurbit Downy Mildew reports for April 2019

The Cucurbit Downy Mildew Forecast began on April 29 for the 2019 growing season. Cucurbit downy mildew was reported in Florida on Acorn squash, Yellow Summer squash, Zucchini, Cantaloupe, Watermelon, Cucumber, and Butternut squash from February 4 to April 18, 2019.

Cornell Vegetable Pathology shares insights on cucurbit disease management

Powdery mildew recommendations for the Northeast from the Cornell Vegetable Pathology Extension at Long Island Horticultural Research & Extension Center were recently updated on the CucCAP website Disease Management Pages. Disease information and 2019 fungicide recommendations from the McGrath lab for Powdery mildew, downy mildew and Phytophthora blight were recently published in Proceedings of the 2019 Empire State Producers Expo.
