MSU Vegetable Pathology begins 2018 Downy mildew spore trapping

The Cucurbit Downy Mildew Spore Trapping Program conducted by the Hausbeck lab at MSU is underway for the 2018 growing season. Spore traps have been set up in multiple locations throughout the state. When downy mildew, a cucumber pathogen, makes its appearance in selected Michigan counties the growers will be informed. Spores were detected in Muskegon County on May 14 and 15.
